To become an Approved Dealer or Activity Provider and be listed on this site contact Chris Selway.

Approved Dealers and APs have access to BLSA logos to use on their website and paperwork.

All Blokart Instructors need to be BLSA Members.
Taster Sessions, Lessons and Events

Blokart Taster Sessions can be supplied by individual BLSA Instructors at many of the BLSA Fun Weekends or BLSA 'Club Days'.

Instruction at these events must be arranged with the organiser in advance to ensure the necessary equipment and Instructor are available on the day.

Fast-Track Blokart Sailing Courses, Corporate Events and Group Parties are available from any of the BLSA-recognised Blokart Dealers or Activity Providers around the country.

Speedsail training for anyone wishing to try the sport can be supplied by Speedsail UK or Weston Windsport by appointment / prior arrangement.

BLSA Instructors Courses

Blokart or Speedsail Instructor Courses and levels

Assistant Instructor: this allows for a non-sailor to become involved in a support role.  All theoretical areas of the course will be covered, in particular the safety aspects of running a course.

Level 1 Instructor: allows you to teach basic sailing techniques.  This level is often used by activity groups and schools.

Level 2 Instructor: requires a high level of personal sailing as good quality demonstrations will be given.  The aim is to develop a students ability to race levels. So to get to this level you will have to attend at least 2 race events, one being the Nationals.

All Instructors need to fill in a Lesson Log, and Teaching Log which needs to be returned to the BLSA National Trainer at regular intervals. All Instructors need to be First Aid trained, if this is at a Centre then at least one BLSA Blokart Instructor needs to be First Aid trained and be present on every session.

Revalidation: all instructors need to revalidate their certification every two years to ensure that best practice is being followed consistently. The BLSA National Trainer also needs a copy of a valid First Aid Certificate. Failure to follow these procedures will result in your Instructor status being removed.

For further information about training or revalidation contact out National Coach, Graham Bobin or visit the Speedsail UK webpage.
